You pay for the firearm here and name a licensed FFL dealer at checkout. We ship the gun to that dealer, and you pick it up there after completing ATF Form 4473 and the background check. We never ship a firearm to a home address.

Because it is filtered against New York law before anything is listed. AR and AK-pattern rifles and pistols, semi-automatic rifles carrying banned features, stripped receivers and magazines over 10 rounds are removed at the source, so they never appear in search results, in a category or in your cart. You only see items a New York buyer can lawfully receive.

It means the item is not a New York "assault weapon" under Penal Law 265.00(22), is not a magazine holding more than 10 rounds, and is not an NFA item. It does not mean every item suits every buyer: a pistol still needs your pistol licence, a long gun in New York City still needs an NYPD permit, and your dealer applies the law again at transfer. Only if you already hold a New York pistol licence. No dealer in the state may transfer a handgun to you without one, and in New York City and in many counties the handgun also has to be added to your licence before the transfer. Outside New York City, a shotgun or a non-semi-automatic rifle needs no state permit — you buy at 18 or older through a dealer. In the five boroughs you need an NYPD rifle/shotgun permit before you can take possession of any long gun. Semi-automatic rifles are a separate case: New York has required a licence for them since September 2022, so ask your dealer before ordering one.

New York requires ammunition to be transferred in person by a licensed seller, and since September 2023 a background check runs on ammunition sales through the State Police. An online ammunition order cannot be delivered to your door in New York. It ships to a licensed New York dealer and you collect it there. See buying ammo in New York.

Plan on the shipment reaching your dealer within about a week, then one visit to finish. At the counter you complete Form 4473, the dealer runs the New York background check, and you collect the gun once it clears. A delayed check means the dealer holds the firearm until it is resolved. New York City transfers usually take longer, because your NYPD permit or licence paperwork has to be in order first.

Your dealer does, through the New York State Police, which has been the state point of contact for firearm and ammunition background checks since September 2023. The State Police run the federal NICS check and the state checks together, and there is a small statutory fee your dealer passes on.

A valid government photo ID with your current New York address, your order number, and the dealer transfer fee. Bring your pistol licence if you are collecting a handgun, or your NYPD rifle/shotgun permit if you are collecting a long gun in New York City.

Tell us and we refund you. If a dealer will not complete the transfer — because of a New York City rule, a licence problem or their own shop policy — the firearm comes back to us and you get the purchase price back. Nothing was transferred to you, so nothing became a used gun. If you are unsure, ask your dealer before you order.

Each dealer sets their own transfer fee, commonly $20–$75, and city shops tend to sit at the higher end. Call the dealer before ordering to confirm they accept shipped transfers and ask their fee.

Yes, to any state where the order is lawful. The catalog is the same filtered one wherever you are, so an out-of-state buyer will not find AR-pattern rifles or magazines over 10 rounds here either. Firearms still go to a licensed dealer in your own state.

No. Federal law requires firearms to go to a licensed dealer. Optics, parts, cases and cleaning gear ship to your door. Ammunition ships to a licensed New York dealer.

21 or older for handguns and handgun ammunition, 18 or older for rifles, shotguns and their ammunition. New York sets 21 as the minimum age for a semi-automatic rifle as well.

Some items ship from partner distributors instead of our main warehouse. Those usually ship within 1–3 weeks, and we email you if yours will take longer. If we can’t ship an item within 30 days, you get a full refund.

Yes. Used firearms are marked with their condition (like new, very good, good and so on) on the listing.

No. NFA items need ATF Form 4 approval, which we don’t handle, so they aren’t listed — and New York prohibits them anyway.

Before it’s transferred to you, yes — contact us and tell your dealer not to transfer it. Once transferred, firearms can’t be returned for refund, but manufacturer warranties apply. See the returns policy for details.
